The Association offers opportunities for volunteer work, with various different ways to contribute. Volunteering works for both Finns and immigrants, so there is something to do for anyone willing to participate. SMY offers opportunities for both long-term or one-time volunteering work arrangements.
By utilizing your own knowledge and skills for volunteer work, you will get to know new people and cultures, expanding your own worldview. Additionally, you can help immigrants to integrate and get to know Finland, all whilst you are doing something meaningful.
Sincerity and open-mindedness are needed for volunteer work. Volunteers do not need to be professional immigration workers, nor know foreign languages, only everyday knowledge and skills are required.
