Practical and concrete help with job searching
OMA URA activities are employment-promoting services and activities organized by the Satakunta Multicultural Association for its members. The goal is to improve the customer’s readiness for the job market, professional skills, and to promote members’ employment opportunities, as well as the opportunity to improve and maintain their Finnish language skills. We serve customers in Finnish, English, and Russian.
Personal Counselling
You can book a personal counselling session with the service’s staff. At the start of the service, we always review the customer’s current situation, including education, work experience, language skills, readiness, and other needs. This way, the appropriate service and counselling can be offered, utilizing existing strengths and developing weaker areas.
The service is intended for all unemployed residents of Pori. We help and advice on employment and related matters. We assist in job searching and inform about job application requirements. We help to create a clear and comprehensive resume, assist in writing job applications and pre-paring for job interviews, and support in handling matters such as fulfilling the job searching obligation requirements. We also provide information about Finnish working life, work culture, and trade unions.
Digital Skills and Online Transactions
We guide our customers in creating and making CVs and in the electronic handling of various documents, such as work-related papers, diplomas, work certificates, and possible translations. We assist our customers with job search and study-related online service sites, such as the Em-ployment Market e-service, application for vocational education, HR company websites, MyTax, KELA, etc.

Using and Developing Finnish Language Skills
The Living Language Chain and Let’s Talk Together! activities focus on practicing the use of Finn-ish language through everyday conversation.
The purpose of the Living Language Chain is to provide an opportunity to converse with a Finn and thus develop one’s Finnish language skills. Conversations in small groups take place once a week for an hour at a time with varying free themes. The meeting date, time, and topic are agreed upon in advance by the group.
This all gives the courage to speak Finnish and helps in understanding Finnish spoken language and dialects!
Let’s Talk Together! event is held every three weeks until the end of April.
